OMAFRA courses 2012

The Drainage Superintendents Course is offered annually by OMAFRA. The primary focus of the course is the Drainage Act with emphasis on its application to drainage superintendents. This course is a prerequisite for any individuals who wish to become a municipal drainage superintendent. The deadline to register for this course is February 17, 2012. The Rural Municipal Drainge Course is a 1-day course offered by OMAFRA that will be offered at three locations across Ontario. This course will cover drainage law, administrative procedures under the Drainage Act for new drains and the maintenance of exiting drains, overview of drainage assessment and collecting grants. This 1-day course will also cover the roles and responsibilities of council, clerk, treasurer and drainage superintendents under the Drainage Act as well as the Tile Drainage Act. Course locations, dates and registration deadlines are available in the brochure attached below.

The Calculating Drainage Act Assessments Course is a 1-day course offered by OMAFRA that will be offered at three locations across Ontario. This course will cover municipal drain management, Drainage Act assessments, calculating maintenance/repair assessments, construction/improvement assessments and maintenance grant applications. Course locations, dates and registration deadlines are available in the brochure attached below. ***PREREQUISITE: Individuals registering for the Calculating Drainage Act Assessments course must have completed the Rural Municipal Drainage Course or the Drainage Superintendents Course***
