NHIC Training at the LICO Conference in January
The DSAO Executive has made arrangements with the MNR for NHIC sensitivity training re Species at Risk, if enough of the membership is interested in taking the course.
The training will take place on Monday, January 18, 2010 and/or Tuesday, January 19, 2010 if there are sufficient numbers. The course will consist of the basic website information in the morning and the advanced information in the afternoon for those who are interested.

OMAFRA Drainage Courses 2010
The Drainage Superintendents Course will be held from March 1 to 5, 2010 in Guelph. If your municipality intends to appoint an individual as their drainage superintendent, that individual must have successfully completed this course in order to be eligible to be able to obtain the drain maintenance and superintendent grants. Further details including registration information are available in the attached pamphlet.
A series of two one-day courses will be held in New Liskeard, Peteborough and London in April 2010. The first day is the "Rural Municipal Drainage Course" which provides a detailed overview of the drainage law and the Drainage Act procedures. The second day is the "Calculating Drainage Assessments" workshop. It explores problems and complications in calculating drainage assessments using information from existing drainage reports.
