Purpose and goals

The Drainage Superintendents Association of Ontario (DSAO) is an organization dedicated to advancing and improving the knowledge of drainage through the exchange of ideas and information. It exists to unite the Drainage Superintendents, Drainage Commissioners and Drainage Support Staff through an association for the promotion of better maintenance, repair and improvement of drainage works in Ontario.

History

The DSAO was formed in 1975 to bring Drainage Superintendents together to exchange ideas and to standardize drainage maintenance and activities throughout the Province of Ontario. For further historical information on the DSAO, visit History.

The Constitution

Since its inception in 1974, the DSAO adopted the Constitution of the Drainage Superintendents Association of Ontario which was initially revised in January 2006 and subsequently revised in January 2009.

Board of Directors

The DSAO consists of the President, Vice President, five Directors and one Associate Director. The duties of Secretary, Treasurer, Promotion Coordinator and Information Coordinator are either absorbed by a current Board of Director or are obtained through individual contract. For the purpose of the Association, the province of Ontario is divided into Chapters as follows:



Chapter 1—Essex/Chatham/Kent

Chapter 2—Elgin/Lambton/Middlesex

Chapter 3—Waterloo/Oxford

Chapter 4—Central Region

Chapter 5—Niagara Region

Chapter 6—Eastern Region
